BRASELTON - An arrest warrant initiated at a residence in Braselton ended with an arrest, but not for the man the police were originally looking for.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office encountered John William Stephens, 56, of Braselton, who was arrested for an outstanding bench warrant.
Stephens was found with quantities of individually packaged units of methanphetamine, as well as substances used to cut methanphetamine, a quantity of hydrocodone pills, cash, and fully loaded 12 gauge shot gun.
Stephens was charged with possession of methanphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methanphetamine, possession of a schedule III drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possesion of a fire arm by a convicted felon.
