The Dacula Memorial Day Parade celebrated veterans this morning in their 20th annual Memorial Day parade.
At 10 am, thousands of spectators gathered at the Hebron Church to watch the riderless horse begin the parade.
The horse represented those who gave their lives in battle. Following the horse were marchers carrying images of friends and family members who had died in the war in Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond.
Veterans, active and reserve military members, military animals, local organizations, marching bands, custom floats, classic cars and tractors participated in the parade, along with many others.
The parade ended at noon at Dacula High School, but the celebration continued on with a festival downtown until 5 pm.
