JEFFERSON -- It was cold, wet and muddy -- perfect weather for throwback football, and Jefferson showed it was comfortable doing just that on Friday, churning out 241 yards rushing in a 28-0 win over Westminster.
The victory pushed the defending Class AA champs through to the second round of the playoffs, where the Dragons will travel to face Heard County.
Jefferson (9-2) would not mind another rushing performance like Friday's.
Isaiah Blake carried 24 times for 144 yards and two scores, while Tristen Jackson added 84 yards on 17 carries and one rush touchdown and one receiving touchdown.
Quarterback T.J. Skelton completed 3 of 7 passes for 65 yards to help Jefferson roll up 306 total yards.
Westminster, meanwhile, managed just 123 total yards, while the Dragons also forced three turnovers -- one interception and two fumble recoveries.
Trent Sorrells led the Jefferson defense with 12 tackles, a sack and an interception. Tradd Porter and Hanon Price also had seven stops apiece -- including three tackles for loss for Porter and a pass break up for Price.
