Lilburn student injured by bleach-filled balloon

LILBURN - A student in Lilburn has been seriously injured by someone who threw a balloon filled with bleach at his face.

Lilburn police Capt. Bruce Hedley said the 14-year-old boy had just left Lilburn Middle School on Wednesday when he was attacked.

Authorities said the balloon was thrown by someone in a gray minivan with a black stripe.

The victim was treated and released at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Police said it will take time to see if his eyesight fully recovers.
