Cornelia brings in 2008 with the 4th Annual Apple Drop

By Jerry Gunn Reporter
CORNELIA - Cornelia knows how to have a good time on New Year's Eve, with the 4th annual Apple Drop at the historic Community House.

It's a celebration for the young and young at and it's free for everybody in town who wants to have fun bringing in the New Year according to Better Hometown Manager Andrea Harper.

"It's a way for the city of Cornelia to say thank you to its citizens for a good year and we look forward to another year," Harper said. "Tallapoosa has the 'Possum Drop' but we're a little above that; we have the 'Apple Drop'.

The Apple City Cloggers got the evening started, there was a marshmallow roast over open flames on the front lawn and lots of good old rock and roll as Cornelia's giant apple was ready to drop and bring in 2008.
