A teacher at Towns County Elementary School was announced as the Teacher of the Year earlier this week for the 2024-2025 school year.
Prior to giving out the award, TCES celebrated Samantha Reynolds, who was the winner of the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year, according to school officials.
Reynolds assisted in "handing over the torch" to the newly selected TOTY, Susan Poston.
Poston is currently completing her 27th year of teaching, spending 21 of those years as a kindergarten teacher, officials said Friday.
She will now represent Towns County Elementary for the coming year.
