Barrow County officials are about to welcome their next Deputy County Manager to his new position.

A press release from Barrow County Manager Srikanth Yamala says that they have recently hired Wes Geddings to become Deputy County Manager, effective Monday, April 22, 2024.

Geddings has nearly 20 years of experience in local government service, including with Oconee County as the Finance Director and with Hall County as Financial Services Director.  Prior to his career in local government, Geddings served in the United States Navy for 21 years where he received two Commendation Medals for his performance and achievements.

Yamala says Geddings will oversee multiple departments and agencies to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services for residents and the business community and will act as County Manager in his absence, adding, “I am excited and confident that he will provide fresh perspectives and innovative ideas and that he will do an excellent job to achieve greater success for our organization and community.”

Geddings earned a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Business Management & Insurance and Risk Management from the University of South Carolina.
