OAKWOOD, Ga. — All the Johnson boys' soccer team needed was a spritz of WD-40 to shake the rust.

After ending the first half 0-0, the defending Class 4A champions ran like a well-oiled machine in the second half, cruising to a 5-0 win over West Hall in the season opener at The Dungeon on Tuesday.

The Knights (1-0) had five players hit the back of the net in the second half. Daniel Trujillo, Junior Castillo, David Arteaga, Adrian Ruiz and Michel Grimaldo all recorded goals.

Ruiz, Arteaga and Andres Galicia had one assist each.

In goal, Michael Perez and Benjamin Villatoro pitched a shutout.
