Power has been restored at Oakwood Elementary School and students are being returned to the building.

Hall County School District Spokesman Stan Lewis confirmed the power outage had been repaired and the building had returned to an adequate temperature just before 10 a.m. Thursday.

That followed an early morning power outage which led to students being shuttled to the Academy of Discoveries gymnasium.

A power outage at Hall County School System's Oakwood Elementary School has officials shuttling students to another location for the start of the school day.

Superintendent of Hall County School System Will Schofield says the outage occurred after 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, forcing them to shuttle students to the Academy of Discoveries gymnasium.

Schofield says workers are on Oakwood Elementary School grounds making needed repairs, and hopes that power should be restored "within the hour", as of the last report.

District Spokesman Stan Lewis said once the repairs are complete, the building will take some time to heat back up. Once the building returns to an adequate temperature, the students will return to Oakwood Elementary.

All other schools in Hall County's system are operating on a normal schedule.
