Central EMS and Forsyth County emergency officials held a dedication ceremony Friday for the new Med 4 truck at Forsyth County Fire Station 4 in honor of EMT-I Gina Ayres, who died while on duty in November 2022.

"Gina was a beloved member of the Forsyth County public safety family having served the Forsyth County community for many years," a social media post from the Forsyth County Fire Department reads. "The new truck is a testament to her service."

A report from the Georgia State Patrol said Ayres was driving a Central EMS ambulance in the morning hours of Nov. 17, 2022, and responding to an emergency call when the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision on Canton Highway.

Ayres, 57, of Cumming, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
