A rabid cat recently came into contact with two dogs in northwest Hall County.

Katie Crumley, Public Information Officer for the Hall County Government, said by email Tuesday evening that the contact occurred in the 5400 block of Mount Shores Circle just west of Murrayville.

"The cat was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab - Virology Section in Decatur," Crumley said. "Hall County Animal Control was advised Tuesday that the cat tested positive for rabies."

Positive alert signs will be posted in the area.
