District 2 Public Health offering additional COVID vaccine for certain medical conditions

The District 2 Department of Public Health is offering additional doses of the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to individuals who are immunocompromised due to serious medical conditions.

According to a press release sent from District 2 on Thursday, the extra doses are only approved for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine. The doses will be offered on a walk-in basis at any of the District 2 locations.

The additional doses are also reserved for those with certain serious medical conditions, not as booster shots for the general public. Per Georgia Department of Public Health guidelines, those wanting an additional vaccine must provide a signed doctor's statement with information about the specific health condition they suffer from. Acceptable forms are on the District 2 Public Health website.
