Three people have been arrested following a methamphetamine drug bust in Hall and Gwinnett Counties.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, agents with the Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad executed multiple search warrants in both counties on August 12. During the investigation, agents seized approximately 200 kilograms of methamphetamine and $45,000 cash.

Almarud Duarte, 25; Kevin Tello, 26, and Eduardo Penaloza-Pacheco, 36, were all arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail. They face charges relating to the sale of and trafficking methamphetamine.

“Drugs taken off the streets and criminals in jail can only make our communities safer," said Sheriff Gerald Couch. "I do, however, want to commend our MANS Unit agents and assisting agencies for the extremely hard work they put into the case."

Agencies that assisted in the investigation include Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Georgia State Patrol, Gwinnett County Police Department, and the Snellville Police Department.
