Healthy Hall awards recognize 15 healthcare champions

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce held its third annual Healthy Hall award luncheon on Tuesday and recognized nominees for their efforts in local healthcare and the community.

This year's event included awards in 15 different categories, with nominees that included more than 40 individuals, businesses and organizations.

Governor Nathan Deal opened the ceremony as the keynote speaker and spoke of the relationship between healthcare and the government, as well as the importance of healthcare in higher education.

This year's categories and winners included:

 

The winners of the 2020 Healthy Hall awards.
Stephanie Brown, MLS was the first winner of a Healthy Hall award. She was the recipient of the Outstanding Allied Health Professional award.
The Healthy Hall award for 2020 Outstanding Healthcare Professional went to Heather Burke-Cody, FNP-C with Longstreet Clinic.
Dr. John Delzell with Northeast Georgia Health System won the award for Outstanding Healthcare Administrator.
Georgia Mountain Food Bank was the first organization to receive a 2020 Healthy Hall award. They received the award for Community Impact.
The Healthy Hall award for Senior Impact went to Lifeline of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Cheryl Williams, RN, with her award for Healthcare Education.
A representative of Reach Out Campaign with their award for Outstanding Achievement in Behavioral Health.
The 2020 Healthy Hall award for Corporate Innovation went to Information Technology at Northeast Georgia Health System.
Abby Odle, LPN, was recognized for her work with the Nurse of the Year (LPN) award.
Victoria Thompson, RN, received the another Nurse of the Year award for a registered nurse.
Dr. Richard Bennett, DMD, with BGW Dental Group received the award for Dentist of the Year at the Healthy Hall award luncheon on Tuesday.
A co-worker of Dr. Betsy Grunch with Longstreet Clinic filled in to accept her award for Physician Specialist of the Year.
The 2020 Healthy Hall award for Primary Care Physician of the Year went to Dr. Brent Archer with Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic.
Chief Jay Parrish with the Gainesville Police Department was recognized for his leadership with the 2020 Visionary Leader award at the Healthy Hall award luncheon.
The final award of the afternoon, the Lifetime Achievement award, went to Dr. Buddy Langston, who retired from Northeast Georgia Health System and Longstreet Clinic.
Governor Nathan Deal delivered the keynote speech for the event and spoke on several topics, including the relationship between healthcare and the government.
