First-degree arson suspect from Hart County arrested Wednesday

Posted 7:59PM on Wednesday 14th August 2019 ( 4 years ago )

The Hart County man wanted for first-degree arson last month is in custody.
James Colby Chastain, 25, of Vanna has been arrested, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.
The charge against Chastain stems from a fire that occurred on July 1 at 658 Joe Findley Road, Royston.
The 25-year-old, double-wide mobile home suffered major damage from the blaze.
State officials said investigators believe the fire started in the back left side of the 1,200-square-foot home, which had been unoccupied for about a year.
An arrest warrant for Chastain was obtained July 30. He was last seen in the Vanna area, where he fled from law enforcement officers.
An Investigator with the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office assisted Hart County Fire Department and Hart County Sheriff’s Office with the original investigation.
No details immediately were provided about the arrest of Chastain.
