Girls soccer: Johnson blanks Bluff; Chestatee drops 7-4A opener; East Hall falls

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Johnson girls took a 7-0 win over Cherokee Bluff Friday in girls soccer action.

Senior Dani Malone netted three goals for the Lady Knights (2-1) to lead the offenive attack. Sophomore Jenna Degroots, senior Maria Rivera, freshman Madison Booker, and junior Carla Avalos each ad one goal for Johnson.

Cherokee Bluff (0-4) was held scoreless by a strong Johnson defense and keeper Grace Yancey.

The Lady Knights next will play host to Chestatee on Tuesday.

The Lady Bears will open Region 7-3A play on Monday traveling to Greater Atlanta Christian.

CHESTATEE 1

The Lady War Eagles dropped their Region 7-4A opener on the road Friday night.

Kyleigh Drew scored the lone goal for Chestatee (1-2-1, 0-1 Region 7-4A). Elizabeth Leon had one assist for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee next will travel to Johnson on Tuesday for a non-region battle.

The Lady War Eagles will be on the road on Tuesday for a non region game at Johnson High School against the Knights.

EAST HALL 1

The East Hall Vikings girls saw their two-match win streak come to an end against the Lady Bobcats.

Jenifer Gomez scored the lone goal for the Lady Vikings (2-1) on an assist from Rosa Montes. Kaia Rice had 6 saves in goal for East Hall.

The Lady Vikings will play at Monroe Area on Monday.
