GAINESVILLE — Kevin Millwood was part of the Atlanta Braves feared pitching rotation in the midst of their 14-year division title run.
Millwood earned 75 of his 169 major league wins (169-152 overall with seven teams) with the Braves, went 3-3 in the postseason with Atlanta, including one World Series start (1999). Twice he won 18 games in a season with Atlanta before moving on to Philadelphia and then stints with Cleveland, Texas, Baltimore, Colorado, and finally Seattle, where he retired after the 2012 season.
Now, the 44-year old is staying involved in the game as the pitching coach for Lakeview Academy. He has two sons in the Lions program and has increased his role in helping one of the smallest schools in the Georgia High School Association over the past two seasons.
