A Gainesville man remains in the Hall County Jail without bond on charges of false imprisonment and aggravated battery, both under the Family Violence Act.

Brooks Winfred Ross, 38, was taken into custody by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit on Monday, October 28, at the Forsyth County Jail.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained warrants for his arrest on Oct. 25, during an investigation into an incident that occurred at his home on Tumblewood Trail.

According to Hall County Spokesman Derreck Booth, between Sept. 7 and Sept. 9, Ross twisted the victim’s arm behind her back, resulting in a broken arm.

"...he also confined her to a bedroom in his residence, according to the initial investigation," Booth said. "The victim, 26, was able to leave the home when Ross left for work. The two had been in a relationship."

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
