Sunday’s planned running of the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord, North Carolina has been postponed to Monday.
Persistent rain showers that moved into the area overnight lingered throughout the day, with track-drying operations continuing in hopes of finding a break in the weather.
At 5 pm, another shower accompanied by lightning forced track officials to evacuate the grandstands before officials from the NHRA finally threw in the towel at 5:30 pm.
Monday’s rescheudled eliminations scheduled to begin at 10 am.
