Posted 10:30PM on Thursday 17th January 2019 ( 5 years ago )

Oakwood Police said they have arrested a teen for a Thursday morning burglary at a business on McEver Road.

Sgt. Todd Templeton said officers responded to a burglary in progress call at 8:15 a.m. at RLM Affairs Venue & Event Planner/BabyCakes Florist Cafe Bakery.

When they arrived, officers discovered the glass on the front door of the business had been broken. He said there was substantial damage to the property and merchadise.

Templeton said officers discovered Robert Daren Hornsby,18, behind the business and he was detained.

Templeton said investigators also received a report at the same time of the burglary call about a Dodge Charger that had been stolen overnight from another business on McEver Road. Investigators were able to link Hornsby to the theft of the vehicle, which was discovered at a neighboring business. The vehicle was found to contain a small quantity of marijuana.

Hornsby faces criminal charges relating to the business burglary, property damage, possession of marijuana and the stolen vehicle.
