No contamination found in water tested at old Forsyth County golf course

The next steps are not entirely clear but third party testing of irrigation ponds of an old Forsyth County golf course show no contamination, contrary to the suspicion of neighbors.

Commission Chairwoman Laura Semanson lives nearby and led the voices of those who feared a housing development planned for the land would potentially cause harm to the lake due to chemicals used during the heyday of Lanier Golf Course.

Developer and owner of the land, Danny Bennett, filed an ethics complaint and a lawsuit against Semanson for her part in the delay of his project.

Semanson told the AJC she remains skeptical because the soils were not also tested.
