*Registration has opened for United Way of Hall County's Half Marathon and 5K Read & Run 2019.   It will be held March 2.  Click here for more information and to register.

*Young Harris College will host “Phantom of the Universe” at the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, Friday, Jan. 25, Friday, Feb. 15 and Friday, Feb. 22.  For more information about planetarium events or to purchase tickets, visit yhc.edu/planetarium.

*The WorkSource Georgia Mountains Career Coach will visit the Good Samaritan Food Bank on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 and on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 both mornings. The food bank is located at 1220 McEver Road in Gainesville.  There is no charge for its services which include helping search and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, and more.

*Shoulder work begins Monday on I-85 northbound beginning at State Route 98 in Commerce. This project will create a daily single lane closure until January 31 Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between State Route 98 and Martin Bridge Rd./SR 63.
