Deputies: Barrow County man faces multiple charges for online solicitation of a child

A man from Auburn sits behind bars after a child solicitation investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
 
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Michael Anthony Putnam after he used the internet to solicit an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old child for purposes of sexual conduct, according to the agency's Facebook page.
 
Putnam showed up to West Bank Park Wednesday expecting to meet with the child and instead was arrested.
 
He faces multiple charges including Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007, Criminal Attempt to Commit Sodomy, Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Child Molestation, Obscene Internet Contact with a Child, and VGCSA- Possession of Marijuana.
 
Putnam remains in the Forsyth County Detention Center.
