OAKWOOD - A 56-year-old Lake City woman died in a four-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Thurmon Tanner Parkway and Atlanta Highway (State Route 13).
The Georgia State Patrol says Shari Brown was riding as a passenger with John Brown, 61, also of Lake City. As they turned left from southbound Atlanta Highway onto the I-985 southbound entrance ramp they were struck in the passenger side by Bryan Castillo, 23, of Gainesville, as he headed north on Atlanta Highway in a Nissan 370Z.
The force of the collision shoved Brown's Cadillac Deville into two vehicles stopped at the intersection nearby.
Ms. Brown was fatally injured according to GSP. Mr. Brown and Castillo were injured and transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center by Hall County paramedics.
Occupants in the two vehicles stopped at the intersection were not injured
Brown was charged in the accident with DUI, Failure To Yield While Turning Left, and Homicide by Vehicle First Degree according to a media release from GSP.
