Ward takes Pro win in Atlanta Dragway Summit ET finale

Matt Ward had a day to remember in Saturday’s Summit ET Drag Racing Series season finale at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

The Anderson, South Carolina racer won the Pro final, wrapped up the division points championship and ran a perfect run with in the third round of eliminations.

Ward defeated Jessie Wilson in the final with a 6.459 ET on a 6.42 dial in at 106.31 MPH and a 0.012 reaction. Wilson ran a 6.257 ET on a 6.25 dial in at 109.28 MPH and a 0.047 reaction.

Ward defeated Will Spearman to reach the final round, while Wilson beat out Craig Hornyai.

Other winners on the day included Jim Onda in Super Pro, Russell Haskins in Sportsman, Hayden Wilson in JR Street, Tim Sutton in Super Pro Bike, Randy Day in Street ET Bike, Cooper Hancock in 5-9 JR Dragster, Logan Westmoreland in 10-12 JR Dragster and Jessie Daniel in 13-17 JR Dragster.
