In the first of a planned series of forums, Sola City Church in Gainesville will launch "For The City" this Saturday, Sept. 15 with a focus on immigration.

Alex Gailey, the pastor of Sola City Church, said the goal is to host bi-annual or even quarterly events to address what he said are controversial issues of specific importance to the Gainesville community.

"The goal of the events is to gather Christians and non-Christians, raise the awareness of systemic and social injustices, address these issues through a Gospel-centered narrative and provide tangible action steps for how we can work to resolve these issues in our city," Gailey said.

The speaker for the inaugural event is Rondell Trevino, the founder of The Immigration Project based in Memphis, TN.

For The City: Immigration will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at City Church located at 311 Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville.
