The trial of a Buford man charged with keeping a woman captive in his Buford home while raping and beating her has been postponed.

According to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, opening arguments in the trial for Thaun Q. Dinh were slated for Tuesday morning, but one of Dinh's attorneys had an unexpected family emergency.

Dinh was arrested in 2017 for allegedly detaining the woman on Thanksgiving and keeping her in the basement of his home. The woman was able to escape and alert a neighbor on Grand Ashbury Lane. Dinh was captured after a five-day manhunt.

Dinh is charged with rape, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and robbery.

There is no word on when he trial may be rescheduled
