A Buford store suffered minor damage Tuesday when a neon light display apparently ignited a small fire.

Firefighters responded to the Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors on Buford Drive around 9:40 Tuesday morning when a store manager reported a "loud popping sound" and smoke inside the business, said Capt. Tommy Rutledge, Gwinnett County Fire Department, in a statement.

First responders found a smoldering fire in the back corner of the store, which was being contained by the store's sprinkler system. Firefighters quickly extinguished it.

Fire investigators believe it was sparked by a neon light display, which ignited some nearby combustible items.

The store was evacuated, and nobody was injured.
