NASCAR paid its final visit of the season to the Irish Hills, as Kevin Harvick dominated Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.

In this week's edition of the Hard Left Turn podcast, Around the Track editor Brandon Reed and NASCAR reporter Pete McCole have a look at the race, including:

-Kevin Harvick trounced the field in Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan, leading 108 of the race's 200 laps.  After a lackluster showing at Watkins Glen, was this a message from Team Harvick to the rest of the field?

-Team Penske put all three of their teams into the top 10 at Michigan, led by Brad Keselowski in second place.  Does this signal a surge for Roger Penske's cars, who have seemed to struggle up against the Stewart-Haas juggernaut?

-Brandon and Pete take an even harder left turn with a lengthy discussion on the new Cup Series Mustang, why race cars don't look like race cars anymore and reminiscing about one team's attempt in the late 90s to bring Mercury back into Cup.

-Martin Truex, Jr. had a strong car on Sunday, but a spin, an empty gas tank and a loose tire on pit road turned a promising day into a bad one.  Pete and Brandon discuss.

-Dawsonville, Georgia's Chase Elliott was looking to back up last week's win at Watkins Glen with another strong run at Michigan.  But after struggling early on, the No. 9 team clawed their way back to a ninth place finish.  Does this means the Hendrick/Chevrolet woes are continuing?

-Jim France, uncle of Brian France, has stepped into the role of interim President and CEO during Brian's indefinate leave.  Will this settle the waters for NASCAR?

-We preview this weekend's trip to "Thunder Valley" for NASCAR, as all three national tours head for the Bristol high banks.

Editor's note: Towards the end of our preview, Pete McCole erroneously says the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Bristol is scheduled for Wednesday night.  It is, in fact, slated for Thursday night, with the green flag set to fly at 8:30 pm that night.  We apologize for this error, and we assure you corrective measures are being taken.  We're forcing Pete to listen to Darrell Waltrip sing.  No, really.  You can hear it here if you want, but we warn you - it's Darrell Waltrip.  Singing.  You've been warned.

WDUN will have live PRN Radio coverage of Saturday night's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bristol Night Race from the Bristol Motor Speedway beginning at 6:30 PM on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
