A second Hall County man has been named to the state Board of Pardons and Paroles and the other has been reappointed to a new term on the board.

David Herring of Murrayville was selected for a seat on the board by Gov. Nathan Deal, effective August 1.   Herring is a former state trooper who received the Governor's Public Safety Award for Heroism in 2001 and was recognized by the Gainesville Kiwanis Club as Trooper of the Year in 2004.

At the same time, Deal named James Mills of Gainesville to a new term on the board.  Mills is a former state Representative who has served on the board since November 2011.
