The remains of Cpl. Terrell Junior Fuller of Toccoa will be transported from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Thursday morning to his home in Toccoa.
As AccessWDUN reported earlier this week, funeral services for Fuller, who died during the Korean Conflict but remained missing for 67 years, will be held Saturday in Stephens County.
Fuller's remains were among 208 boxes of co-mingled remains returned to the United States from North Korea between 1990 and 1994; his remains were identified earlier this year.
Fuller's remains are to be on board a plane that lands at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Atlanta airport. After a ceremony at the airport, the remains will be transported up I-85 to I-985 to Ga. 365 to Stephens County.
Law enforcement in the jurisdictions between the airport and Acree-Davis Funeral Home will assist in the escort of Fuller's remains.
The timeline for the escort to move through the region is fluid, although the Hall County Sheriff's Office is anticipating the group will make its way through Hall County before 10 a.m.
"Our request is for motorists’ patience as the Hall County community shows honor and respect for Cpl. Fuller and his journey home," Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch said in a press statement. "We’re humbled to have the opportunity to take part."
