After a rain delay that lasted over three hours, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series wrapped up their lone trip to the Granite State with the running of Sunday’s Foxwoods 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

In this week's edition of the Hard Left Turn podcast, Around the Track editor Brandon Reed and NASCAR reporter Pete McCole have a look at the race, including:

-Kevin Harvick shoved Kyle Busch out of the way in the final laps of Sunday’s race.  Did he have a choice?  Did he move too soon?  Have we heard the end of this?  Will we see fisticuffs at some point between the two former champions, maybe at Martinsville?

-Despite the notion that we might see a new winner on Sunday, the “Big Three” (Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex, Jr.) combined to lead 131 laps on the day, finishing first (Harvick), second (Busch) and fourth (Truex, Jr.) in the end.  Will we see more of the same the rest of the season?

-Aric Almirola had one of his strongest runs of the season, leading 42 laps in the event.  Almirola was leading when his teammate, Clint Bowyer, tagged the wall, bringing out the final caution of the day.  After losing the lead on the ensuing pit stop, he fought his way back to third.  Can a win be far away?

-Dawsonville, Georgia’s Chase Elliott had one of his best days of the season, leading for 23 laps and winning the race’s second segment.  After being the highest finishing Chevrolet, does this mark a possible positive trend for Elliott going forward?

-Kurt Busch started from the pole in Sunday’s race, leading the most laps on the day (94).  But a snafu on pit road while he and Ryan Blaney tried to avoid holding each other up led to them….well, holding each other up.  Could anything have been done to avoid the situation?

-We preview Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway (where there should be no Cup Series interlopers) and Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway (and learn that Brandon has a better sim-racing win record at the “Tricky Triangle” than Pete).

Remember, WDUN will have live MRN Radio coverage the NASCAR race weekend, starting with Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway beginning at 5 pm on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
