With the second half of the NASCAR racing season well underway, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series made its annual stop in the Bluegrass State over the weekend for the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway.

In this week's edition of the Hard Left Turn podcast, Around the Track editor Brandon Reed and NASCAR reporter Pete McCole discuss:

-Martin Truex, Jr. wins at Kentucky on Saturday night.  Is this the launching point for Truex and his Furniture Row Racing team to chase a second straight MENCS championship?

-Team Penske and satellite teammate Wood Brothers Racing seem to have hit their stride, with all four finishing in the top 11 on Saturday night.  Does this mean we'll see more of them in victory lane in the second half of the season?

-Once again, Chevrolet seemed to be out to lunch.  What does the Bowtie Brigade need to do to be relevant in the second half of the season?

-Pete McCole attended last week's test on Charlotte Motor Speedway's combined infield road course and oval layout.  What can we expect to see when 40 cars take the green flag in that event in September?

-Chase Elliott will drive a car painted in memory of his late cousin, Casey Elliott, during the Southern 500 throwback weekend at Darlington on Labor Day weekend.  We remember Casey and talk about the emotion for the Elliott family during last week's announcement.

-We preview the upcoming NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (and we talk about this Wednesday's Truck Series race on the dirt at Eldora Speedway too).

Remember, WDUN will carry live PRN Radio coverage of the NASCAR race weekend from New Hampshire Motor Speedway, beginning with Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series Lakes Region 200 beginning at 3:30 pm on 102.9 FM, 550 AM and streaming live on AccessWDUN.

Coverage continues on Sunday with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Foxwoods Casino 301 beginning at 1 pm on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
