Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa has released details of a Tuesday-night wreck that left a Habersham County man seriously injured.

A 2013 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Joseph Rodacker, 39, of Turnerville was traveling south on Turnerville Circle while traversing a hillcrest, according to the GSP report.

As his motorcycle crested the hill, a deer traveled into the roadway and Rodacker was unable to avoid impact, according to the report. The motorcycle overturned in the road and ejected Rodacker, resulting in serious injuries.

Rodacker was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of what Sr. Trooper John Crawford said are debilitating injuries.

He was transferred from Northeast Georgia Medical Center to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Rodacker faces a driving under the influence charge from GSP.
