Cornelia police charge two men in child molestation case

CORNELIA — Two men have been arrested in connection with a child molestation investigation in Cornelia.

Isaac Joseph Sgro, 20, is charged with rape, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery, and first-degree cruelty to children, according to Cornelia Police Chief Chad Smith.

Jonathan Edward Lewicki, 31, is charged with aggravated sexual battery, child molestation, sexual battery, and first-degree cruelty to children, according to Smith.

“On June 30, the Cornelia Police Department began an investigation into an act of child molestation against a female juvenile that occurred within the city of Cornelia,” a press release from Smith states. “Currently, two individuals have been arrested. This is an ongoing investigation which may result in additional charges.”
