The man who was injured when a Jet Ski exploded on Lake Lanier Wednesday night is hospitalized in stable condition.

"The cause of the incident on Wednesday has been determined to be accidental in nature," Hall County Fire Services spokesman Zack Brackett said in an emailed update Friday afternoon.  "The patient, a 52 y/o male, is in stable condition at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville."

The incident happened about 8:45 at Holiday Marina.

"The subject that was the rider had been retrieved from the water by bystanders," Brackett said at the time. "There had been several fire extinguishers that had been discharged. I don't know if that helped or not. The jet ski did take on water and was submerged upon our arrival."

He is expected to make a full recovery, Brackett said Wednesday night.  The mans's name has not been released.
