Banks County home damaged by Friday fire

HOMER — An early-morning fire caused moderate damage to a home on the Banks County side of Alto on Friday.

According to information released today, June 19, the single-family residence at 203 Crocker Road had heavy smoke showing when firefighters arrived shortly after 6 a.m.

“An aggressive interior attack was performed, and the fire was contained to the kitchen area, with smoke damage throughout,” said Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols.

The cause of the fire was accidental, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported at 6:04 a.m. and the incident was terminated at 8:08 a.m.
