TOCCOA — A Toccoa man who gave his life for America during the Korean Conflict soon will be coming home after being classified MIA (missing in action) for 67 years.

For that reason, a volunteer meeting to plan the roadside welcoming of Army Cpl. Terrell J. Fuller has been set for 7-9 p.m. today, June 12, at [ash-ling] Booksellers, 47 Doyle St., Toccoa.

A homecoming date for Fuller’s remains has not been determined yet.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced that Army Cpl. Terrell J. Fuller, captured and killed during the Korean Conflict, was accounted for on April 13, 2018.

In February 1951, Fuller was a member of Co. D, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, supporting Republic of Korea Army attacks against units of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Forces (CPVF) in an area known as the Central Corridor in South Korea.

After enduring sustained enemy attacks, the American units withdrew to Wonju, South Korea. It was during this withdrawal that Fuller was reported missing, as of Feb. 12, 1951.

The meeting will be hosted by Toccoa Cub Scouts 77, Boy Scout Troop 77 NEGA, and [ash-ling] Booksellers.
