Suwanee looks to hold millage rate steady once again

Posted 6:00AM on Sunday 10th June 2018 ( 5 years ago )

Suwanee City Council is looking to hold the millage rate steady for a seventh consecutive year, with the first public hearing set for Thursday on the upcoming fiscal year budget.

Though Suwanee doesn't officially approve its millage rate until August, officials are using a planned budget that would hold the millage rate at 4.93 mills, a decision that would lead to a 7-percent increase in property tax revenues, according to city documents.

The first public hearing will be held Thursday at Suwanee City Hall at 5:30 p.m., before the council's regularly scheduled work session.

A second public hearing will be held June 26 at 6 p.m., at the council's regularly scheduled voting session.

An online review of the budget can be seen here.
