Next week, commuters who use Longstreet Bridge on US 129/SR 11 in Gainesville will use the center turn lane as a travel lane.
A concrete barrier will temporarily block the outside lanes approaching the bridge, according to an email from Katie Strickland with the Department of Transportation. Strickland shift will allow construction efforts to the new bridge to continue safely.
Strickland reminds drivers to be alert in the work zone, and to buckle up and stay hands free.
