Republican Mark Pettitt will continue his campaign for the Hall County Board of Education after his win in the GOP Primary Election Tuesday night.

"My mission is just to get in there and work hard and listen and work hard and find out what we need to do," Pettitt told AccessWDUN. "Hopefully, I can be an advocate for the teachers and the parents and the students and all the stakeholders."

Pettitt defeated former teacher Gina London Pilcher in the race to fill the Post 2 seat being vacated by the retirement of Brian Sloan.

Pettitt has a Democratic challenger in the November election - William Wallace.
