Three adults and one child have been displaced as the result of a house fire in the 100 block of John's Bluff in Auburn.

Barrow County Emergency Services personnel were called to the scene just before 7 p.m. Sunday to find fire coming from the back of the two-story home.

At first, firefighters thought there might be someone inside the house, since there was a car in the driveway.

"Firefighters forced entry into the home and began an interior search of the structure. A thorough search determined that no one was at home," said Barrow County Fire Investigator Lt. Blair Darst in a press release.

Darst said the fire originated on the back porch and appears to be accidental.

The home and its contents received moderate fire, smoke, and water damage. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the home.
