A Friday afternoon fire destroyed a house on Cagle Mill Road in northeastern Hall County.

Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the double-wide mobile home when they arrived at the scene around 1:45 p.m.. He said crews had to work from a defensive posture, since there was a limited water supply in the area.

"The house will be a total loss - I don't have the estimated value as of now," Brackett said. "There are several vehicles that were involved, also, and the fire did extend out and affect a patio and pool area."

Brackett said a total of five people - three adults and two teenagers - lived in the house. Only one person was home at the time, and she was able to get out of the structure without injury.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.
