The Cornelia Downtown Development Authority announces that Sugartopia received a sign grant when it relocated to 188 North Main Street and expanded.

The grant is a reimbursable grant available for downtown business and property owners. In order to qualify for the grant, the business or property owner has to get the project approved by the Cornelia Downtown Development board prior to any work being done. Once approved, the project must be completed within 120 days. Upon completion, the Board will review all receipts and final results of work prior to issuing grant monies.

The Cornelia Main Street Façade Grant matches up to 50 percent of the project cost with a maximum cap of $500.  The bakery received the full $500 for its new sign in its new location.

For more information on how to apply for a sign grant, or if you are interested in being a benefactor to this program, contact Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby at [email protected], or call 706-778-8585, ext. 280.
