The North Hall girls tennis team surged into the Region 7-3A championship match, while the North Hall boys fell in the semifinals on Wednesday.
The Trojans swept Dawson County 5-0 in the quarterfinal round but fell to Fannin County 3-2 in the semis.
Masa Kobayashi (No. 1 singles), Christian Boychuck (No. 2) and Kody Dills (No. 3) each won in straight sets in the quarterfinals, as did the No. 1 doubles team of Adam Turcotte/Ethan Surles and the No. 2 team of Forrester Terry/Jonathan Elder.
North Hall's doubles teams each won in the semifinals.
The Trojans (8-10) will face Lumpkin County at 11 a.m. Thursday for the No. 3 state playoff seed.
Meanwhile, the Lady Trojans (13-3) will compete for the No. 1 seed after sweeping Dawson in the semifinals.
Anna Montgomery (No. 1 singles), Christen Barnes (No. 2) and Sydney Patterson each won in straight sets for the Lady Trojans, as did the No. 1 doubles team of Lauren Davis/Baylee Turner and the No. 2 team of Ella Oxley/Raquel Kallab.
North Hall's girls play at 1 p.m. Thursday.
