Tennis: Branch girls, GHS programs, North Hall girls each win in respective region matches

BUFORD — The Flowery Branch girls tennis team defeated Buford 4-1 on Tuesday in Buford.

The Lady Falcons (10-1) took wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles and swept the doubles points.

Olivia Correa won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Olivia Nance won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Brenna Martin and Alyssa McSpadden battled to a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, and Alicia Quast and Kendalle Quast prevailed 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Buford's Alex Mann won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.


GAINESVILLE BOYS 4,
WINDER-BARROW 1

The Red Elephants (5-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAAA) notched the Region 8-AAAAAA win on Tuesday in Winder.

Dylan Pineda and Ben Burns claimed victories in singles play, and the doubles teams of Max Wuest and Caleb Anderson and Michael Head and Truett Keener also prevailed.


GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5,
WINDER-BARROW 0

The Lady Red Elephants won without dropping a set on Tuesday in Winder.

At No. 1 singles, Ali Waggoner won 6-3, 6-3. Madi Kiser won at 2 singles 6-1, 6-3, and Grace Brown won in a forfeit 6-4, 4-1.

Both doubles teams won big, with the No. 1 team of Hannah Williams and Grace O’Keefe winning 6-0, 6-1 and Savannah Brown and Grayson Wagner winning 6-4, 6-2.

Gainesville takes on Flowery Branch on Thursday.


NORTH HALL GIRLS 3,
GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN 2

The Lady Trojans (6-2, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) won at No. 1 and 3 singles and then claimed the No. 2 doubles point to edge out the Lady Spartans on Tuesday.

Anna Montgomery won a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 battle at No. 1 singles, while Christen Barnes cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

The No. 2 team of Ella Oxley/Raquel Kaplan prevailed 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

North Hall takes on East Hall on Thursday. 


GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN BOYS 3,
NORTH HALL 2

The Trojans (3-5, 1-1 Region 7-AAA) pulled off wins at No. 1 and 2 singles but dropped three other matches in straight sets against the Spartans on Tuesday.

North Hall's Masa Kobayashi won in three sets at No. 1 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, while Christian Boychuk notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles. 

The Trojans play host to East Hall on Thursday.
