Chris Madden victorious in SAS opener at Cherokee

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Chris Madden jumped to the lead early, and went on to score the win in Sunday night’s March Madness race at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina to open the 2018 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series season.

It marked the fourth win in the event for the Gray Court, South Carolina native.

Madden edged out pole sitter Chris Ferguson for the lead off the start, and went on to hold off Scott Bloomquist and Ross Bailes for the victory.

Bloomquist had to settle for second place in the end, with Bailes in third, Don O’Neil in fourth and Zach Mitchell in fifth.

Casey Roberts, Jonathan Davenport, Benji Hicks, Kyle Hardy, and Michael Brown rounded out the top ten.
