Tadmore student named best in region at social studies fair

A student from Tadmore Elementary School has advanced to the State Social Studies Fair April 14 at Clayton State University.

Alexander Vargas was the first-place winner at this year’s regional event held recently on the University of North Georgia Gainesville campus.  The competition featured more than 200 students from 44 city and county school systems in northeast Georgia. It was was open to grades 5-12. 

Six projects were presented from Tadmore, and all six were among the regional winners. Eleven fifth-graders researched and presented the winning projects. The students took home one first-place ribbon and ten third-place ribbons.

 In addition to picking up a first-place award, Vargas was also named one of the Best in Region.
