A construction worker hit early Friday morning while picking up reflective barrels along I-85 in the Suwanee area has died from his injuries, Gwinnett Police confirmed Monday.

Lamar Ragland, 42, died on Saturday, and the driver who allegedly hit him, Peter Rozboril, 55, will be facing charges in the case, according to a statement from Cpl. Michele Pihera.

"These charges will mostly likely include Homicide by Vehicle and Traffic Charges," said Pihera.

The collision happened around 5 a.m. Friday when Rozboril's Toyota Corolla went into the left lane of the northbound side of the interstate near the I-985 merge, where Ragland was picking up the barrels to re-open the lane, which had previously been closed for overnight construction.

Ragland was wearing a reflective jacket and helmet at the time of the incident, Gwinnett Police said in a prior press release.

Rozboril stopped and was cooperative with responding officers.
