The Jackson County Community Outreach (JCCO) will award 23 scholarships totaling $30,000 to graduating seniors of the four Jackson County area high schools and the Jackson County Adult Learning Center (GED) in 2018.
These scholarships will be as follows:
- 16 $1000 Regular Scholarships
- 5 $2000 Tech College Industrial Scholarships
- 1 $1500 Rev. Tom Lewis Leadership Scholarship
- 1 $2500- Jim Scott Visionary Scholarship
"Education support is a part of our mission and core values because education and skill set training is key to Jackson County's economy and quality of life," said JCCO President Jim Scott.
To qualify for any JCCO Scholarship, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, a need for financial assistance and show evidence of school and community involvement. Students who are chosen to move forward are required to participate in an interview session. Scholarship interview sessions are scheduled for April 9-11.
In addition, applicants must have a school counselor or principal signoff, a letter of recommendation, and a college letter of acceptance. Applications are due March 2.
After the selection process has been finalized, awards will be presented at each school's honors day event.

The JCCO has awarded nearly $218,000 to high school graduates since 1998.
